Recap since week 3...now on week 6

Loving it. Still working hard and bringing it.

I have been mixing in some running for cardio here and there and also on top of some workout days. I am feeling motivated by warmer weather to trim down a bit for swim suit season. I love the muscle I have put on my upper body, my arms have never been this ripped. I just want to see a 6 pack!!

Week 3 (days 101- 107)

I am starting to mix it up a bit. The first 3 weeks of this new program are all the same workouts. I have been adding some running to lifting days and traded running for some of the cardio videos.

Tonight I hit the gym for the first time in 107 days. It was good to mix it up a bit I thought I was going to dominate it but.....I was sweating it up. I did 45 minutes of cardio between the treadmill and the elliptical. Then finished up with a few pull ups, stretching and abs.

Next week is back to a regular P90x week. I am excited to change it up again. I am still going to try and add some running I want to trim out a bit. I can definitely see more muscle on my shoulders and arms which is awesome but I also want to see abs (which is a diet too).

Days 94-100

94: Yoga, this is exactly the same as the regular P90x, I am still doing just 30-45 minutes of the hour and thirty minutes.

95:Upper Plus and Core: You do this twice a week. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

96: Kenpo X: Again same as in the regular program. I am going to run outside in lough of some of the cardio days. I ran this day.

97: Rest: I rested.

98: Upper Plus and Core: Love the core, I can tell a difference already.

99: Interval X: I ran outside for 45 minutes instead.

Day 100!!!: WOW. Total Body X: This is everything from head to toe. Except your ears that is what Tony say anyway :)

Days 91 and 92

91 Upper PLUS and Abs/Core PLUS: Hard, fast placed and fun....abs and core is 20 minutes....dammm.

92 Interval X PLUS: Just as hard as plyo, I was sweating it up! It is only a 30 minute long workout with 3 levels of building intensity. I can tell already this workout is going to bring the results.

What's next.....P90x PLUS

Of course, when we ordered the P90x system they were offering P90x PLUS with it.

P90x says you can go on a maintenance schedule and expect to keep your results for about a month before you have to start all over again. From reading online some people just start over and keep counting the days, there results get better and better.

I am a little burned out on some of the exercises and I am looked to mix it up a bit.

So the blog continues :)

Today is day 91.

Recap

All and all P90x has been a fun and exciting experience. I had some workout where I really felt good and other I was really pushing it to just get through it. That is the hard part about being on such a tight schedule.

I do not feel as thought I got as "ripped" up as I expected. I know I am stronger and have muscle on my body. My endurance has increased and I did exercises I would have never dome in the gym.

We will post before and after pics soon. Thanks for following our journey.

88, 89.......90

88 Legs & back abs: Legs are a piece of cake by this point but I still hate all the pull ups and I was feeling them.

89 Kenpo: I traded Kenpo for 10 hours of horse riding, horse bathing and stall cleaning. I Think it was a fair trade I am still very sore from all those activities.

90 Rest: A very uneventful way to end but I needed it.

Days 86 & 87

Yesterday: Back, Biceps and Abs: I was lifting mostly 15lbs. And was able to move the chair farther away for pull ups. Not a bad way to finish!

Today: Yoga: I did 45 minutes. It is amazing just from the 30 minutes I did last week this week was not so painful.

Week 12

Week 12......the last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not off to the best start. Definitely slacking a bit towards the end :( My diet was way off this weekend. But I am going to pull it back on track for the final days a really BRING IT.

Yesterday :Chest, Shoulders& Triceps, abs: skipped it all.

Today: Plyo. I had some serious making up to do today I hit yesterdays workout hard this afternoon. It felt good. Than this evening instead of plyo I ran/walked for 1 hour.

It is pretty serial looking back over all the worksheets and seeing all the weeks filled in. I have made some serious progress as far as strength goes. Exercises I could not do in week 1 I am now doing. Exercises I started doing using only 5lbs weights I am now using between 8lbs-15lbs weights.

5 days left! Today Thad surprised me with a P90x T-shirt to celebrate my completion of the program, if nothing else I will be able to say "I DID IT"!

73 Shoulders & Arm, abs:
74 Yoga: Did 30 min. Made up abs.
75 Legs & Back, abs: Did legs.
76 Kenpo: Just did abs
77 Rest: Rested.

Day 71- 72

Starting our second to last week.... very exciting.

71 Yesterday was Chest & back, abs: We were very busy and very tired and some how by the time we were ready to worked out I looked at the clock and it was 10pm. We went to bed, I felt very guilty for skipping especially this close to the end.

72 Today is Plyo: A lot of making up to do today. Thad ran and did abs this morning. I ran and abs this afternoon. We will make up chest and back tonight and be back on schedule. (phew)

Day 66- 70

66 Back and biceps, abs: I did some 20lb bicep curls!

67 Yoga: Did 30 minutes, I have skipped yoga the last couple of weeks and I could tell. I lost my flexibility and I worked up a good sweat in just 30 minutes.

68 Legs and back, abs: My cold finally hit hard and I had to miss my first lifting day.

69 Kenpo: Caught up on legs and back, abs.

70 Rest: I will either catch up up on Kenpo or I will run, haven't decided yet :)

Thad was on his long week so I have a feeling he will be putting in some double time this next week.

Day 64 Chest, shoulders, triceps and Abs: Did abs first again way better, I am am pretty sore today, I increased in strength so much from week 7. More push up, weight and reps. Bring it.

50 Chest & Back, Abs
51 Plyo (Thad did it with me, it was only his 2nd time, he definitely felt it.)
52 Shoulders & Back, Abs
53 Yoga, skipped it.
54 Legs & back, Abs, we switched it up and did abs first it was a nice change and I had more stamina.
55 Kenpo x, Ran 3.4 miles instead. That's a 5k, I ran it in 33 minutes. That's all P90x results.
56 Rest Day

We are ready for week 9. We have had some of the best dinners on this new meal plan. We are eating so much more in one meal. Personally I may go back to the fat shredder diet for some meals so I look my best for day 90 pictures.

Update

We are starting the last phase, 4 weeks left to really bring it. We get a new diet for the last 4 weeks it is the Energy Booster. The last 4 weeks I defiantly gained strength but I also feel as through I am not as trim from the first 4 weeks diet the fat shredder.

I am really going to focus on the diet these last 4 weeks. As the weather continues to be nicer I hope to walk and run a few days a week too (last week I walked 2 and ran 1).

Thad skipped this whole last week and he has been slacking on the cardio days (plyo and kenpo). I am hoping that we can both get excited for these last couple of weeks and really bring it!

If nothing else day 90 pictures should keep us motivated.

Days 41 and 42

41 Kenpo X: Still really like this workout, especially the star jumps in between sets.

42 Stretch/rest: I rested

Week 8 (Days 43- 49)

Last week was week 8, rest week.

Yoga: Did about 30 minutes.
Core Syn: Rocked it.
Kenpo: Let out some aggression, I was so sore the next 2 days.
Core Syn: I had really good energy for this work out and I was able to really make the most of it.
Yoga: Skipped it, ran 2.6 miles instead (set a personal record of 26 minutes)
Stretch/rest: Rested

Day 33 and 34

Day 33 Plyo
I was still super sore from day 32 but I brought it like nobody's business. It gets no less grueling, it is just a hard workout period.

Day 34 Back and biceps, Ab Ripper X
Still sore, my abs and my chest. I am really surprised. Pull ups and curls tonight topped off with by 375 ab moves in 15 minutes. I was sweating it up. I get farther and farther into the ab workout with out having to take a break and my form is improving also, moves I was modifying (obliques) I can now do.

Everyday I can't believe how good the results are and that for the last year I spent over an hour (usually two hours) at the gym only to get "okay" results. I will never own a gym membership again! To anyone waiting.... stop wasting your time and do it! You will not regret it.

Day (29), 30, 31, 32

Got a little excited and posted the pictures without my day descriptions. Here is the recap.

This week has included some new work-outs. New videos, new Tony.

Day 29 Ply (old)
Still kicking my butt.

Day 30 Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X (new)
Really fun it is all pull ups and weights the whole thing for 50 minutes. I finally did my first chin up with no chair assist.

Day 31 Yoga (old)
Still a love hate relationship but my down ward dog is much improved. I only did 30 minutes of one hour and 30 minutes.

Day 32 Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X (old)
This is tonight, this one of my favorites just because I have pretty muscular legs in general. Not looking forward to abs, I hate but I love it!!!

Thad and I will get back on track for workouts together this weekend.

Day 28 Chest, Shoulders, Triceps and Ab Ripper X

Yes is gets even more intense. You can tell by the title. I was not feeling like working out today after a extremely long work day, but I brought it. It is always a little awkward this first time through a new ruteen. Tonight was a lot, a lot, a lot of push ups. Even one armed (really Tony).

After a week off it was time for ab ripper x. I was nervous it was going to even harder than month one, but I made it thought the first 3 moves (all 25 reps) with out a break. I was able to do more moves with better form than ever before. So I guess Tony knows what he is talking about. Thad was busting it through too.

2 more days till one third of the way!

Day 26 and 27

Hit up Core yesterday. I am sore today and there are some moves that have me falling all over the place.

Today I should have made up yoga but I was just not feeling it.

Tomorrow starts Phase two and the energy boost diet. We start adding in carbs and the work out really intensify. I posted some extra pics from this week but we will be taking the official day 30 pics this week, we are very excited.

Day 24 & 25

I took yesterday as my rest day, so I will be working out through the weekend. Thad is on his long stretch at work so he has not done much this week but I did see him bust out about 7 pull ups on the bar tonight.

Tonight was Kenpo, it never feels like that great of a work out but I am always sore the next day. That leaves core and yoga to wrap up the "rest" week. However this week I am finally starting to see some definition in my upper abs. Thad abs looks shredded it is so unfair how much easier it is for guys to get in shape.

We are going to rev it up this weekend so we are ready for day 30 pictures, 1/3 of the way to HARD BODIES!

Day 23

Yoga, twice in 3 days, plus I have it again on Friday. I have to say it is not as bad I as first thought and the flexibility I am gaining is amazing. Yoga unlike the other P90 videos is 1 hour and 30 minutes. The others are just 60 minutes. Plus he throws in abs at the end, he wouldn't be Tony if he didn't.

Thad is already jacked up for day 30 pics. I cheated and posted a pic on my facebook after my yoga work out tonight. I was feeling pretty good. I have to admit I have been doing some extra flexing too :) Kenpo tomorrow.

Day 22

Today is a yoga day, but I made up yoga yesterday. So I am switching yoga for core synergistics. Tomorrow I will do yoga again. Which I am happy to say is getting way easier so I am able to relax my mind and more through it.

Thad and I both did the core synergistics today. It is a full body work out. Up and down, standing and on the floor, weights and body resistance. Tony yells at you to squeeze your abs and butt a lot. It is a little awkward your first time through because you don't know what to expect, I am looking forward to doing later again this week, I will be able to work harder. I still think I will be sore. We are looking forward to day 30 pictures.... Coming soon!!

Days 18-21

Day 18 Yoga, skipped it

Day 20 made up day 19 Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
Thad and I did this workout together. I can't believe how many pull ups he can do now, I did not use the exercise bands instead I did pull ups with the assistance of a chair. My upper body is getting way stronger.

Day 21 Rest day today, I made up Kenpo X today. I am really sore from legs yesterday but I still brought it!!

This was a rough week, supper busy but I am not losing motivation.

We are going into a recovery week. It is yoga, kenpo, and stretch. We also add core synergistics, not sure what it is but we hear it hard. One last week of the fat shredder diet and than we go into energy booster.

Still Bringing it.

Although I have too busy to blog with starting my new job and all I am still getting in the workouts. Even if I start at 10pm at night. It is defiantly getting easier and easier. I am excited to switch it up next week. I still can not make it all the way through Ab Ripper, well see how it goes tonight :)

Thad has been doing his own modified schedule because of his work schedule, skipping Plyo 2 weeks in a row, but getting in all the lifts. It will be interesting to compare our individual results at 30 days.

Day 12

Today I did Kenpo X. I worked up a sweat and got out some stress and aggression.

Today Thad caught up on Day 12 with Legs and Back.

Tomorrow we will both get back on track and do yoga together. It is better to have a work out partner to push you through.

We have been so excited about the results we are already seeing that we could not resist taking a few Day 12 picture. I know the blog gets a little boring being all writing so....her are our Day 12 pictures. You may not see a difference but we can feel it! Bring It!

Day 10 and 11

Day 10 was yoga I missed it due to my unfortunately busy schedule but promise to make it up on Sunday (rest day).

Day 11, today was Legs & Back and Ab Ripper x. Legs are not too bad, I am still using the green band as an option for the back part. I was suffering through ab ripper tonight. It is harder especially after the legs because you use a bit of legs during abs. My abs were burning. Hopefully they are sore tomorrow.

Thad is on his long stretch of work but still squeezed in day 9. He will have some catch up this weekend too. He is definitely trimming out, down 7 pounds, you can start to see the beginnings of a six pack (I am jealous).

Day 9...Plyo

I was sweating it up tonight! I made it through a lot more of the moves with consistent intensity second round. You cover a lot of ground and need a bit of room to really feel it, I am always worried I am going to to jump into the ceiling fan. Not a chance. Still loving it, more tomorrow.

Day 8...Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X

Cycle 2. Defiantly getting easier. We are both already feeling the gains. I switched to the green exercise band instead of the pull-up bar. Thad stayed hard core with pull-up bar. I am still doing push ups on my knees but I am able to pump out more reps! Thad also saw a increase in his reps (not on his knees).

Ab ripper x continues to bring the pain. I can't believe how much we are eating, protein, protein, protein. We added the recovery drink at the end of last week hence it does help with the muscle recovery.

Day 5 and 6.

Day 5...Legs & Back, Ab Ripper X
This was not so bad I feel like they got easier as the week progressed. Legs are a piece of cake for me as they are my strongest part of my body. Legs were not so easy for Thad and I caught myself laughing a couple of times.
Back was hard but instead of using the pull-up bar I used the 40 pound resistant bands, I was able to do more reps and get a better workout.

Day 6... Kenpo X
This is there version of kick boxing. It is a lot of kicking, punching and HI-AH! It is fun and a good way to take out any extra aggression you might have stored up. It is meant to get you heart rate up and it works. We thought it was pretty easy, the easiest so far but let me tell you we are SORE this morning!! Our upper backs and my butts.

The good news is I am already starting to see and feel the results. The friendly scale says I am down 5 pounds! We are both already feeling more toned and like we have more muscle definition. Today is a rest day or stretch for me. Thad has to catch up on Day 3 he missed from working his night shift. I will definitely doing at least some of the stretch.

Day 4...Yoga X

Yes yoga, 1 hour and 30 minutes to be exact. That is the most yoga I have ever done. Apparently flexibility is an important part of getting ripped. I got dizzy, fell over a couple of times and defiantly got distracted mentally. But I am a beginner after all. More tomorrow.

Day 2 and 3

Day 2: Plyometrics
Tony says this is the most extreme workout of the entire 7 disks. Thad and I defiantly felt like we wanted to throw up by the end of it. Basically it is a lot of jumping and bouncing.

Day 3: Shoulders and Back, Ab Ripper X
Shoulders and Back, supersonic extreme! This a fun 60 minutes workout. Lots of up row raises and triceps movements. I can see how the shoulder get so built.

Ab Ripper X, I hate it but I love it. Just my second time through and I can already do more of the moves. My abs were sore for days. Bring it Tony.

Day 1....Chest & Back, Ab Ripper X

Well if you have not seen the infomercials google it now (I'll wait)... okay now you know why we are doing this. After many 2 hour training sessions spent at the gym, not getting the results we really wanted, we have decided to take the 90 day challenge.

Today is Day #1. The program is complete with a day by day meal plan and day by day hour long work out schedule. At first I was intimidated by the meal plan, a lot of planning and cooking.

The cooking and eating is the easy part, the work out not so much. Of course we started with an intense upper body workout which is my weakest area. 1 pull-up and I was dying, but Tony is serious about Bringing It! This consisted of 60 minutes of hard core push ups and pull-ups. Finally, we ended with 15 minutes of ab ripper x, x because it is EXTREME.
